Trump took a trip that everyone is talking about. Some are not pleased.
Donald Trump went to Mexico yesterday. Fortunately, he made it back to the U.S. without being shot, beheaded or kidnapped. There are pockets of Mexico that are somewhat safe, but most of the country is run by drug cartels. I spent about 8 months in El Paso a few years ago as a guest of the government, and inmates would tell me about Juarez, a border town where banditos would chop off hands and heads and leave them in the street. Mexico might even be worse than Brazil when it comes to street violence.
Not everybody was happy about the trip. Univision’s Jorge Ramos was losing his mind, as was former Presidente Vincente Fox. Fox had actually invited Trump to come down to Mexico for a visit before, but this time he was upset, apparently because Trump didn’t grovel and beg to be forgiven for suggesting a wall be built to keep people out of the U.S. who chop off heads and hands.
Current Presidente Enrique Pena Nieto invited The Donald this time, and Trump said, “Sure, I’ll go. I’m down for a taco bowl.” Who doesn’t want a trip to Mexico? Out here in California, that’s like a day trip. “Come on, let’s head down to TJ and smuggle back some Xanax, man. Maybe we’ll drop by Zona Norte and get one of those ten dollar hookers.”
Everybody’s freaking out that Trump went to Mexico. Just like Democrats freaked out when Trump started reaching out to black voters. “What’s he doing? Those people are ours. We own them!” So Dems are not too happy that Trump is reaching out to Latinos, especially since he has been rising in the polls recently. Trump has been staying on message and not stepping on his junk, so his numbers have begun to steadily climb upward. Perhaps Democrats should take a trip to TJ and smuggle back some Xanax.
Democrats count on Trump stepping on his junk, so since he hasn’t been stepping on his junk, they’re going after his recently hired campaign advisor Stephen Bannon, bringing up an altercation he had with his then soon to be ex-wife 20 years ago. That was actually the lead story on Don Lemon’s show. Why? Because Trump has been staying on message and not stepping on his junk.
The media hates when Trump stays on message and doesn’t step on his junk, because then they are forced to talk about Democrats. They’re desperately trying to ignore recent revelations about Benghazi emails that Hillary never turned over.
Politics is a game and a business. Never let anyone tell you different. Nobody gets into politics to make the world a better place for future generations. They get into politics because there is a boatload of money to be made if you know how to play the game. Disgruntled Republicans like Mark Levin and Erick Erickson despise Trump, not because of the things he says or he’s not a “constitutional conservative.” They hate Trump because he’s brand new to the game and he beat all of them. He hasn’t been doing this for years. Jeb Bush or Marco Rubio or Ted Cruz were supposed to be the nominee. They were the shoo-ins. Trump comes along and screws everything up for everybody. He upset the apple cart and derailed the money train. That’s why they’re mad. It has nothing to do with principles. He’s an outsider. He’s not a guy who had been a senator or a governor for 30 years and patiently waited for his turn. He jumped the line. Donald Trump is a GOP border jumper.
Trump originally said he would deport all 11 million people living illegally in the United States. He has since softened his stance, saying that the focus would be on removing criminals, people who have overstayed their visas and other immediate security threats. Some on the right complain that he has backpedaled. Listen, idiots. In order to do anything, you have to be elected first. You can have a strong stance on immigration, but if you don’t get into office, it’s all moot.
There is a way to track illegal immigrants and keep criminals out of the country. All you have to do is follow the law. Democrats don’t like to follow the law when it comes to illegal immigrants, because they depend on them for votes. Sanctuary cities are not following the law. Outlawing sanctuary cities and requiring employers to utilize e-verify would go a long way towards solving the criminal immigrant issue, but Democrats don’t want to do that, because the need those votes.
Policies are already on the books that would solve half the problem. The concept of self-deportation would actually work if illegal immigrants couldn’t get a job when they got here. If companies were held accountable for hiring illegals, there would be no incentive for people to cross the border illegally. if there were no sanctuary cities, illegal immigrants wouldn’t come here and stay. If you’re working in a warehouse and your boss has to let you go because the money he would fined for hiring illegals would be more than he would save by paying lower wages, why would you stick around? If laws are enforced and illegal immigrants could no longer vote or get a job, Democrats would drop them like a bad habit.
If someone has lived in the U.S. for a while and hasn’t broken any laws, Trump has proposed a plan for them to be able to come back to the U.S legally and expeditiously. It’s kind of like the statute of limitations. If you’ve managed to beat the system and have come to the country and lived here for years and have contributed to society, there will be a process where you can stay. It’s not amnesty, because immigrants in the country without permission who wish to seek legal status must return to their home countries in order to do so. It’s a tough, but fair policy. But criminals? Fuhgeddaboudit. They are outta here. And nobody can vote until they have gone through the legalization process.
Once again, Donald Trump has beat Democrats to the punch. He’s being presidential, just like when he went to Louisiana to assist flood victims while Obama continued his golfing vacation. Hillary didn’t even go. That’s while Trump’s poll numbers are rising and Democrats need to smuggle Xanax.
We’ll discuss more of Trump’s trip to Mexico on today’s show. Stay tuned.
