From 7-12-16 episode of The Rob Zicari Show LIVE 10-1pm M-F
Let me tell you about the low information voter.
Low information does not mean stupid. My dad is a 78-year-old low information voter and he’s a tough, street-smart guy who’s been through seven lifetimes in terms of world experience and knowledge. But he gets most of his information from television news, which is where over 60% of the American people get their information from. He’s not tech-savvy, so after he watches Wolf Blitzer on CNN, he doesn’t go online to get a different perspective.
So when my dad sees Don Lemon describe how he has to be careful when he goes outside and has a police encounter because he doesn’t want to get shot by them, he goes, “Wow. The CNN anchor has to worry about going outside? What’s going on in our country? It must be really bad out there.”
My dad lives on an island off the coast of Florida. There aren’t too many killings going on in the beach resort community where he is. There isn’t a lot of civil unrest. Civil unrest in Sanibel is a long line at his favorite restaurant because it’s Fish Fry Friday and there’s a tense standoff between him and 84-year-old Mr. Hinckle, who’s being a pushy bastard with his cane.
My dad watches Don Lemon being afraid to go outside, people marching in the streets and shutting down freeways and he thinks it’s total anarchy. He thinks it’s the end of the world. He’s on an island in Florida, it’s chill there. He sees Obama quoting stats from the Washington Post about police shootings and he believes him.
The people who benefit from this propaganda are Democrats. Democrats tell African-Americans that they are where they are because of Republicans. They are being killed by Republicans. The police are Republicans. Police are bad. Hey, Mexicans. Your problems are all caused by Republicans. Poor people, you’re only poor because of Republicans. Gay people. You’re discriminated against because Republicans hate you.
Deep down inside, Democrats love this turmoil. Al Sharpton has made millions stoking the fire and creating division. He isn’t helping black people. Magic Johnson has done far more for black people than Al Sharpton ever has. Magic invests in businesses that benefit African-Americans. Al Sharpton makes millions by telling black people that white people hate them.
Democrats create this aura of black people being held down by whites and the media backs them up. They take statistics and flip the numbers to fit their narrative. It’s a sham, it’s a scam. When the numbers aren’t in black and white, that means it’s a scam. When you add nuance to statistics, the numbers don’t mean anything.
The Washington Post put out statistics of police shootings from January 2015 to now. During that time, 1,502 police shootings occurred where people died. Out of those deaths, 732 were white people, 381 were black and 382 were of unknown race. Then they add nuance.
According to the most recent census data, there are nearly 160 million more white people in America than there are black people. White people make up roughly 62 percent of the U.S. population but only about 49 percent of those who are killed by police officers. African Americans, however, account for 24 percent of those fatally shot and killed by the police despite being just 13 percent of the U.S. population. As The Post noted in a new analysis published last week, that means black Americans are 2.5 times as likely as white Americans to be shot and killed by police officers.
This is how Obama is able to quote stats that say blacks are twice as likely to be killed than whites, by adding nuance. This is an example of Obama and the media working together, taking statistics and warping the results. The left does this all the time. Blacks commit more crimes where they live, which are often high crime areas. If you live in an a war zone like Chicago, you are going to have more interactions with police. A lot more than you would have living in a beach resort in Florida.
When the media disseminates this disinformation and Black Lives Matter activists like DeRay McKesson talk about how the police are engaged in ethnic cleansing, animals like Dallas cop killer Micah Johnson think, “Wow. Police are just executing black people. Even the president is saying it. I have to do something. I have to stop it.”
When Dylann Roof killed nine churchgoers in South Carolina, what did they do in response? They banned Dukes of Hazzard. They took down the Confederate flag from the statehouse. Then you have Black Lives Matter demonstrators chanting, “What do we want? Dead cops! When do we want it? Now!” This is called a peaceful protest by Obama and the media.
An African-American professor at Harvard named Ronald G. Fryer was outraged by what he was reading and seeing, so he decided to do his own study. He wanted to get to the bottom of what was being reported by the Washington Post and the media.
His findings? There was no evidence of racial bias in police shootings. Blacks are more likely to be in encounters that involve being cuffed, thrown to the ground and have weapons pointed at them, but there is no evidence of racial bias in situations where police have to fire their weapons.
When you have cops being assassinated in Dallas because of a man hearing the president and the media talking about black people being killed by police at twice the number of whites, you better have indisputable statistics to back up your claims. But here you have a Harvard professor saying those stats are all wrong. It’s not supposed to be this way.
Why was everyone outraged over the Iraq war? Because there was so much disinformation. So many conflicting reports. For something as big as going to war and having thousands of soldiers killed and maimed, the evidence needs to be undeniable. We didn’t have that with Iraq. The reasons for going to war are being disputed to this day.
Night after night, we hear about peaceful protests going on, but they’re not peaceful. Blocking freeways and throwing bottles at cops is not peaceful. When you have a complete breakdown of America’s social structure, you better have numbers to back them up
You have Obama and the Washington Post offering one set of statistics and a professor at Harvard saying the exact opposite. This is a war that has been started by President Obama, the media and Black Lives Matter under false pretenses so that certain people can profit. Doesn’t this sound so familiar?
Professor Fryer’s study showed that police are more likely to use hands with black suspects than whites, 2,165 to 1,845. They are more likely to be touched, handcuffed, pushed to the ground or pepper-sprayed by a police officer, even after accounting for how, where and when they encounter the police. But when it comes to the most lethal form of force — police shootings — the study found no racial bias.
Fryer spent over 3,000 hours sifting through police data in ten different jurisdictions. When Fryer and his team dug into the details of the 1,332 officer-involved shootings, they found that officers were actually less likely to fire on black suspects without having been attacked. Fryer also found that black and white civilians involved in police shootings “were equally likely to have been carrying a weapon.”
This study comes after Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton, a Democrat, threw gasoline all over the fire by stating after Philando Castile was shot: “Would this have happened if those passengers, the driver and the passengers, were white?” Dayton said. “I don’t think it would have. … I think all of us in Minnesota are forced to confront that this kind of racism exists.”
These divisions are created by the left for monetary and political gain. The culture of fighting cops and resisting arrest brings on the police using their hands more on black suspects. Will the mainstream media report on Ronald G. Fryer’s study, or will they dispute its findings because it doesn’t fit their narrative?
I think we all know the answer to that question.
