I saw something on Politico recently that didn’t make a lot of sense to me.
When Donald Trump says he will go after ISIS and hit them hard and take their oil, etc., the media always wants details. “But how are you going to take them out? What is your strategy? We need specifics.” Trump says, “But why? Why would we give the enemy advance notice of what we’re going to do?” People laugh at him and say he just doesn’t have a plan.
We know ISIS has internet access and they’re on social media. We know we don’t do anything to limit their ability to spread their message. A picture of a naked booby will get flagged on Facebook, but somehow ISIS gets under the radar. See what happens when you put a sexually explicit picture on Instagram. YouTube? You can’t put naked chicks on YouTube, but you can wage jihad all you want.
Politico released an article last week Get Ready for Obama’s ‘October Surprise’ in Iraq – If Iraqi and Kurdish troops—with stepped-up U.S. support—retake Mosul as planned, it could be a big boost for Hillary. This article detailed exactly what’s supposed to happen in October. It lays out everything. So if you’re an ISIS terrorist, all you have to do is read Politico.
The American public could be treated to a major U.S.-led military victory in Iraq this fall, just as voters are deciding who will be the nation’s next president—but U.S. military officials insist the timing of the operation has nothing to do with politics.
Iraqi and Kurdish military and paramilitary units are preparing for a push on Mosul, the Islamic State-held city that is now in the cross hairs of the U.S.-led coalition battling the terrorist group across the Middle East. “The idea is to isolate Mosul, cut it off, kill it,” a senior U.S. Central Command officer told me.
Why would they do this?
Senior military officers say the city in northern Iraq, which has been under Islamic State control since June 2014, will be enveloped in a complex pincer movement from Iraqi military forces battling their way into the city from the southeast and Kurdish units storming the city from the northwest. The military offensive, months in the planning, is now tentatively scheduled to begin sometime in early October, with a final battle for Mosul coming at the end of that month.
I don’t get it. Why would we tell the enemy about a ‘complex pincer movement’ and tell them we’re coming from the southeast and northwest and it’s all going to happen in October? Why is Politico telling ISIS our game plan? It’s just bizarre.
If Mosul is retaken, it would both mark a major political triumph for Barack Obama and likely benefit his party’s nominee at the polls, Hillary Clinton, undercutting Republican claims that the Obama administration has failed to take off the gloves against the Islamic State. Even so, senior officers at U.S. Central Command who are overseeing the effort scoff at the notion that the Mosul offensive is being timed to help the candidate Obama is now actively campaigning for, his former secretary of state.
Does ISIS read this stuff? I would bet they do. If they’re sophisticated enough to go on Facebook and YouTube and radicalize all the Muslims who are upset with Donald Trump, why wouldn’t they be able to find a popular liberal website like Politico?
Why are we telling the enemy what we’re going to do in October? Unless this is all fake. We’re really in trouble if the news media is just making stuff up.
Donald Trump is vague about his ISIS strategy for a reason. Doing an article that reveals what we’re going to do and when we’re going to do it is lunacy to me. This offensive should taken place a long time ago, when ISIS was rambling across Iraq cutting heads off right and left and Obama called them a ‘JV Team.’ Now that we’re finally taking the fight to them, we have the liberal media blowing our cover. It’s insane.
